Medical Aid Covered

We claim from your medical aid. We ask only 100% of scheme rate, nothing more. No need to worry about unexpected bills. Just check with your medical aid if your option has funds available to cover the price of therapy.

Plenty of time

No rush, just quality time. Our sessions are about 60 minutes that allows us enough time to get to know your heart. Price of psychologists consultations are determined by the amount of time.

Registered Professional

All our practitioners are registered medical professionals under the Health Professions Council of South Africa and Board of Health care funders. Rates and prices of psychologists are set by each medical aid. We’re contracted in at all major medical aids.

Psychologist Rates covering fees and payment methods

Therapeutic sessions

Each treatment session takes 51-60 minutes. The duration of the session will be determined by the nature of the problem or condition at hand.

Subsequently, if therapeutic sessions exceed the 51-60 min time frame a client will be charged accordingly.

In some cases, where therapeutic orientations are used, the session will require more time to allow for depth and focus. However, your therapist will discuss this with you beforehand.

Medical Aid Patients

Medical aid rates will be charged as set out by the Board of Health Care Funders of South Africa (BHF). However it remains your responsibility, as the patient to contact the medical aid to enquire about the benefits of your specific medical aid plan as not all medical aid plans make provision for psychological treatment.

Note: Should the medical aid be depleted, the client will be regarded as private. Should a client not have a medical aid or choose not to make use of their medical aid, the session(s) can be paid for in cash.

Private Patients

If you prefer to pay cash the fee is R1580.00 for the 51-60 min consultation. Please settle your account after each session.

This amount is payable, either by cash or card. We have card payment facilities available at the practice.

Thereafter, TherapyWise will issue an invoice to you, which you may send to the medical aid for reimbursement.
